At the Kindergarten of Burlesque, you'll enjoy Five Consecutive Monday's not only learning all about Burlesque and developing your own Burly Persona, but you'll meet new friends from many walks of life and you'll bond with them in your journey to self discovery. While there is No Experience Necessary, you do need to bring an open mind and an desire to learn. Get out of your comfort zone and spread your creative wings! Whether you intend to just give Burlesque or Cabaret a spin or you desire to become a professional performer, the Kindergarten of Burlesque is for you! Each class has a performance from a professional Burly Gal for your benefit as well as your entertainment. You'll get to see a LOT of styles and personalities. This helps you develop your own style. If don't want to go down to pasties, it is not a problem, we have loads of ideas for Cabaret (non-stripping) acts as well.

Classes are held over 5 consecutive Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Kindergarten Room of Old School Pin Ups North East Seattle studio.

CLASS ONE: DANCE BASICS! (First Monday) Trixie gives you an overview of the art of Burlesque sharing her years of experience on the stage. Professional Broadway actor, dancer, director and choreographer Charles Dillon offers Dance Basics while Trixie and Lance guide you in selecting music for your number!

CLASS TWO: HAIR, MAKEUP COSTUMES & PASTIES! (Second Monday) Trixie will discuss proper Hair and Makeup techniques for the Burlesque Stage, as well as costuming. Then "The Martha Stewart of Pasties" Fleur Du Mal (http://fleurdumal.etsy.com) teaches you the art of making your own beautiful nipple hats! All materials are provided. 

CLASS THREE: TAMARA THE TRAPEZE LADY! (Third Monday) You will be treated to a performance by one the Top Producers and Performers of Cabaret and Burlesque with her own show "Columbia City Cabaret!" Tamara The Trapeze Lady (http://www.trapezelady.com) as well as Tamaras Tips and Techniques for Tassel Twirling! You will then perform "work in progress" number to Trixie and Tamara for helpful and positive critique in polishing your act.

CLASS FOUR: MORGAN LA MAY! (Fourth Monday) You will be treated to a performance and instruction in creative costuming and prop use from Tempting Tarts producer and Burlesque Performer Extraordinaire Morgan La May. You will once again perform your act for Trixie and Morgan for further tweaking and polishing.

CLASS FIVE: DRESS REHEARSAL! (Final Monday)Y ou will perform your number in full costume and polish your Burly Star so that it will SHINE on stage in front of a live audience! You will also meet your Seasoned (and Salty!) Burlesque Emcee She Freaka McGee who will write your very first intro to the Burlesque Stage! It will be an intro that will have the fans screaming in anticipation!

THE LIVE SHOW! (The Following Wednesday) You've made it! You will perform two shows at the famed Jewelbox Theatre at The Rendezvous. Feel the thrill of whoops and whistles as the crowd responds to your titilating and tantilizing musical act! From the moment you remove your first article of clothing to the moment you receive your Graduation Diploma and take your final bow, this will be an experience you will never forget!
