At the Kindergarten of Burlesque, you'll enjoy Five Consecutive Monday's not only learning all about Burlesque, and developing your own Burly Persona, but you meet new friends from many walks of life and you bond with them in your journey to self discovery. While there is No Experience Necessary, you do need to bring an open mind and an desire to learn. Get out of your comfort zone and spread your creative wings!  Whether you intend to just give Burlesque or Cabaret a spin or you desire to become a professional performer, the Kindergarten of Burlesque is for you! Each class has a performance from a professional Burly Gal, this is for your benefit as well as your entertainment. You get to see a LOT of styles and personalities. This helps you develop your own style. If don't want to go down to pasties, it is not a problem, we have loads of ideas for Cabaret (non Stripping) acts as well.

The first night off the class, you will enjoy a performance from a couple of Former students as well as The Queen of Shame herself, your new Burlesque Mama, Trixie Lane!

We take turns sharing a bit about ourselves and why we took the class, so get to know each other.  Trixie will give you an overview of Burlesque from Classic to Neo, as well as discussing your ideas for a good stage name!  Then Trixie will provide gloves and boas and she'll get you up on your feet to saunter across the stage and do a little bump n grind, how to work a boa and take off one glove. (This may or may not be the style of Burlesque you are going for, but it is a good exercise just the same and soooo fun!) Then each student will choose music from our huge library of tunes, we'll burn you a cd of several selections for you to figure out which song or songs you will use for your BQ Act!

The second class is all about costuming! First, you will enjoy a performance from Fleur Du Mal! Then she will demonstrate how to create Pasties and you will make your very own pair in your favorite color and your size. Fleur will also direct you on costuming ideas and offer advice for ways to embellish or make your costume. *You may hire Fleur to create or sew your costume if needed or just to put in some snap tape or velcro. Her rates are very reasonable. You may Hire Trixie to make a hair flower or feathery head dress. ThenTrixie will give you a Burlesque hair and make up lesson! 

The Third Class you will enjoy a performance from one the Top Producers of Cabaret and Burlesque with her own show "Columbia City Cabaret!" Tamara The Trapeze Lady! Tamara will share her experiences in Burlesque and will discuss - How to get gigs, Backstage Etiquette and What to do when things don't go the way you planned and General Stage Lingo. Trixie and Tamara will show you how to engage your audience. The students will then "give us what you got", show us your act, your work in progress, Tamara and Trixie will help you tweak and enhance your moves/ choreography or facial expressions, offering positive critique to help you give your best performance. 

The Fourth Class, you will enjoy a performance from Miss Kitty Baby! Kitty will then share her experiences in Burlesque and Q & A with the students. She will teach us all about CLASSIC Burlesque and she will recommend films and places on the web to view or purchase them. Once again, you will perform your work in progress, with Trixie and Kitty to offer their help and expertise to fine tune your act.

The Fifth Class is a Full on Dress Rehearsal! We run the show twice to make sure we have our timing down. You will be raring to go! 

The sixth night  on Weds after the last Monday night class is our Actual Performance at the Rendezvous, Jewel Box Theater! Two shows! This is SO empowering, you will get a rush out of performing!
